I assist clients through healing journeys with knowledge and compassion. By utilizing cathartic, creative expression one can release some of the mental patterns that cause suffering. By facilitating deep inner listening through mindfulness one can have the opportunity to balance and integrate all parts to a place of wholeness. It is possible to rewire the brain and form new neuropathways to create lasting change.
It can be overwhelming to face the totality of our life experience or trauma alone. I teach tools to cope with whatever life experiences come your way. The combination of my experience as a yoga teacher and mental health clinician provides a unique perspective on the subtle interconnectedness of mind and body.
I completed a Master's Degree in Art Therapy Counseling in 2002 and am fully licensed as a professional counselor in Missouri and California. I am a certified yoga teacher and have taught yoga and mindfulness since 2005. I have completed additional certifications as an anxiety specialist and trauma informed yoga teacher. I utilize a number of therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to, CBT, ACT, art therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness training, somatic techniques, polyvagal theory, internal family systems, trauma-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and EMDR. I strive to offer a safe and inclusive space for all - children, adolescents, adults, all members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals of all ethnic backgrounds.
